Online education at Florida International University was first introduced to the university by the College of Business Administration in 1998. Since that time, the College of Business Administration has taken the lead in introducing online education to other parts of the university.

Just this year, we established FIU Online as the central, university-wide academic unit for offering online courses and degree programs from all of the colleges and schools within FIU. In addition to serving as the Executive Dean of the College of Business Administration, I also serve as the senior academic officer for online education at the university.

Today, through FIU Online, you can earn your degree totally online or just take a few online classes. More than 200 online courses are offered by just about every college and school in the university. FIU Online offers the same high-quality education that you would find by physically attending classes on any of FIU’s campuses. FIU Online uses the latest in innovative technology to offer you courses that are up-to-date, highly interactive and engaging.

FIU Online offers exceptional service to any student taking an online course through a dedicated staff of student services representatives. If you have a technical problem, a problem with admissions or registration, or a problem encountered when taking an online class, this staff is here to help you. The staff has extensive service hours and may be contacted either online or in person.
