In order to be eligible for admission, Non-Florida Residents seeking to earn a degree at Florida International University must first complete the FIU Undergraduate Application Form. Students must also meet the requirements listed below to be fully admitted to the College of Business Administration (CBA). University Core Curriculum (UCC) - All students pursuing a bachelor's degree at FIU must complete a basic set of general studies courses. Please refer to the FIU Undergraduate Catalog for a detailed description of general education (UCC) requirements.

Credit-Hours - Completed 60 credit-hours (excluding junior/senior level business courses) of undergraduate course work.

GPA - An earned GPA of 2.25 or above for the 60 credit-hours of non-business courses. (2.5 for Accounting majors)

Prerequisites

Be advised, the College of Business Administration strictly enforces prerequisite course requirements for entry into upper-level college courses. To find out what prerequisites are required for each course, please click here . If you do not meet the prerequisite(s) for the course(s), you will not be registered and will be notified by email. If you do meet the prerequisite (s) for the course(s) you are requesting, you will be officially registered and a confirmation email will be sent to you.

Business Pre-core Courses - Seven courses are required of all business majors; these should be completed during the first two years of enrollment. Transfer students who have not completed these courses should plan to complete them immediately. A list of the pre-core courses can be found on the Undergraduate Student Services website under General Requirements.

CLAST - Successful completion of all sections of the CLAST exam or full exemption. For more information on CLAST exemption, please click here.

Business Core - As a CBA student, you should enroll in business core courses once you have completed all general education and pre-core courses. Students who have taken courses they believe are equivalent to the core courses at FIU will need to go through the equivalency process to verify completion of business core courses.

TOEFL - If you are an international student whose native language is not English, you also must have achieved a minimum score of 500 on the paper-based TOEFL, or 173 on the computer-based TOEFL, or an equivalent score on a comparable examination.

Immunization - According to the State University System requirements for registration, you must have documentation of immunity to measles and Rubella (German measles). The FIU Immunization website has details and a downloadable form. The University accepts immunization records from any country as long as they are written in English or Spanish and are signed by a medical physician or the country's medical equivalent. Information for Residency Classification - A Florida resident "for tuition purposes" is a person who has, or a dependent person whose parent or legal guardian has, established and maintained legal residence in Florida for at least twelve months. Please visit the FIU Registration Policies for more Florida residency information.
Students who depend on out-of-state parents for support are presumed to be legal residents of the state in which their parents reside.
PLEASE NOTE: As of Fall 2003, all International students on F-1 Visas residing in the US must take a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester, 9 credits must be for on-campus courses, 3 or more credits may be for online courses. We recommend that you contact the International Students' Office for further information. International students residing outside the US are not limited.

It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the information contained in the FIU catalog.
