Rob T. Guerette, Ph.D
School of Criminal Justice


Rob T. Guerette is an assistant professor in the School of Criminal Justice at Florida International University, Miami. He holds a doctorate from Rutgers University-Newark and was a 2002-2003 Fellow at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers University-New Brunswick. His research has appeared in Crime & Delinquency (forthcoming), Crime Prevention Studies, Criminology & Public Policy, the Journal of Criminal Justice, the European Journal on Criminal Policy and Research and Security Journal. He is author of Migrant Death: Border Safety and Situational Crime Prevention on the U.S.-Mexico Divide (LFB Scholarly, 2007); co-editor of the book Migration, Culture Conflict, Crime and Terrorism (Ashgate Publishing, 2006); and co-author of a book chapter in Deadly Lessons: Understanding Lethal School Violence (National Academy Press, 2002).

He has worked on projects in affiliation with the Department of Homeland Security - U.S. Border Patrol, the National Research Council, United States Department of Justice-Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS), British Home Office Research Directorate, and the New Jersey Department of Probation and Parole. His primary research interests include situational crime prevention/problem-oriented policing, human smuggling and transnational crime, and public policy related to crime. Formerly, he was a private criminal and civil investigator where he worked an assortment of cases on federal and state levels.



George Ackerman

George Ackerman currently teaches fully-online Undergraduate, Masters, and Doctoral Courses around the United States including: Florida International University, Arkansas State University, the University of Phoenix, and Metropolitan State College of Denver. George Ackerman has expertise in several specialties, including Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, Paralegal, Sports Law, Public Speaking, Interrogation and Business Management. George Ackerman has taught students with tremendously diverse cultures and backgrounds from International to U.S.

George Ackerman has worked at the State Attorney's Office and at Corporate Law firms which specialized in White Collar crime, Business Law and an array of other law fields. George Ackerman has published articles and a textbook covering all three years of law school courses from Evidence, Criminal Procedure, Contracts, Property, Constitutional law and Criminal Law, to all aspects of the legal system. George Ackerman has also dedicated his life to helping the future students of our country excel in academics and to relate courses to real life experience. In addition, George Ackerman has been featured in Community Newspapers and National Magazines for business related work in the fields of Health, Fitness and has served as a Motivational speaker.

George Ackerman is also a community leader and is dedicated to his professionalism, and care for his students. He works as an Auxiliary member of the United States Coast Guard seeking search and rescue missions. George completed the Police Academy as a Squad leader and works as a Police Officer. He is pursing a career in the Legal field and teaches at the Doctoral and Collegiate levels across the United States, helping others become the future leaders of our Nation.
