Elizabeth Azutillo, M.A.N, MSN, RN, a professor in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, discusses her use of social media tools to engage students in her course.

Students in this course use Facebook for a group assignment on the Affordable Care Act. Students receive comments and “likes” on their project from classmates.

Why social media tools?
Social media tools allow instructors to vary their content delivery. Announcements and assignments can be enhanced by providing a different way to interact in the course. Students can reference their work even after the course ends.
