Summer A/C 2013 FIU Online Student Orientations - Published on 05/07/2013 07:00 AM
There will be three FIU Online Student Orientations for the Summer A/C 2013 Term. Two will be held online and one will be held on campus. These orientations will cover the fundamentals of learning online using Blackboard Learn. It is highly recommended that students who have never taken an online course attend one of these orientations. We also advise you to check our website for program requirements, online registration, and new updates about online courses.

1st Orientation (Online Session):
Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm

2nd Orientation (On-Campus Session):
Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm (MARC 115)

3rd Orientation (Online Session):
Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Please note if you are unable to attend, the online sessions will be recorded and posted on our FIU Online Tutorials page for future reference. Although not mandatory, attending one of these student orientations will save you from having to get answers to common questions throughout the semester!

Please be aware that if you are taking an online course during Summer 2013, you will not have access until the first day of class. The first day of class for the Summer 2013 semester is Monday May 13th, 2013.

To log in please visit the course Login page.

Your username is your FIU MyAccounts username. (Example: jdoe001)

Your password is your FIU MyAccounts password.

If you forgot your MyAccounts username, please click here to look it up. You must know your Panther ID in order to look up your MyAccounts username. If you forgot your MyAccounts password, please visit the MyAccounts website, enter your MyAccounts username (User ID) first, then click on the "Forgot your password?" link. Please remember to set your MyAccounts security questions, so that you will be able to retrieve your password in the future if you forget it. You can also view the MyAccounts FAQ page if you have any questions about your MyAccounts username and password.

The Masters of Music Education at FIU has been just re-designed and now offers a cutting edge design that will establish a strong foundation while also offering students choice in how to focus and structure their studies. 

The new nine credits under the "Personal Focus" area creates flexibility while the new graduate inquiry area with an option of a capstone project connects cutting edge practice and research to candidates experiences, serving as a practical tool for their professional development and a way to improve the reach and quality of their teaching.

The new program will provide master candidates with the skills necessary to become 21st century music educators who understand today's best practices and can have a leading role within their school communities.

New Online Course - Spring 2013
Curriculum and Policy Design (online): This online course is the first of its kind in the United States and will help teachers better understand how to be innovative and re-structure their teaching by exploring creative ways to engage in curriculum development. This unique course is also the first in music education to address curriculum in relationship to policy thinking. At a time where music and music teachers must respond to accountability measures, this course will help you to understand how policy is shaped, the role it plays in curricular decisions, and how you can used it to your own advantage.

FIU's Online Programs Receive High Rankings - Published on 11/20/2012 02:37 PM
Florida International University's Bachelor of Business Administration Online degree program has recently been ranked No. 3 as best BBA Online program in the nation by TheBestSchools.org -- an online source assisting students with college, university, and career information.  TheBestSchools.org also ranked FIU's Master of Science in Human Resource Management Online degree program No. 7 in the nation for online HR master’s program.  Also appearing high on TheBestSchools.org's rankings was FIU's Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Online program, which was ranked No. 11 in this category.



According to TheBestSchools.org, the top programs were selected and ranked on the basis of three main factors: academic excellence (measured by faculty education and productivity), program depth (measured by number of courses available), and affordability.

TheBestSchools.org ranking release comes on the heels of GetEducated.com's recently released rankings, which placed FIU's Master of Science in Construction Management program among the 30 best Masters in Management programs in the nation for 2012.
