Tuition & Fees
Any on-campus student at FIU may choose to take online classes as part of their program if the classes are available. Students may alternatively choose to enroll in a fully online program at FIU. Because none of the extra costs associated with the development and support of online courses are paid for by state funds, there are fees associated with taking online courses. Please see the details below for the applicable fees for both on-campus students taking online courses as well as those fees applicable to students enrolled in fully online degree programs.
Option 1: On-Campus Program Students Taking Online Courses
Tuition for Undergraduate courses in The College of Arts and Sciences, The College of Business, The College of Education, The College of Engineering and Computing, The College of Nursing and Health Sciences, The School of Journalism & Mass Communication, and The Stempel School of Public Health online course offerings are as follows:

Option 2: Students Enrolled in Fully Online Programs
As of Fall 2013, students enrolled in the fully online versions of the programs listed below will be charged the tuition and fees listed below depending on their Florida Residency Status:
Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy
Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice
Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education
Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management
Bachelor of Business Administration (with majors in Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, and Marketing)
Florida Residents Enrolled in Fully Online Programs
Florida Residents enrolled in the above fully online bachelor's programs pay standard university tuition ($157.36 per credit hour), a Student Financial Aid Fee ($5.25 per credit hour), as well as the Distance Learning Fee ($53.33 per credit hour). The total cost (tuition plus fees) for a 3-credit course is $647.82. Please note, tuition and fee amounts vary by term and all amounts stated above are based on the Fall 2013 tuition and fee schedule and are subject to change. Students enrolled in a fully online bachelor's degree programs at FIU will not be charged many of the fees applicable to on-campus students, saving fully online student hundreds of dollars per semester. Please note, fully online students do not have free access to FIU's on-campus resources such as: computer labs, sporting events, recreational facilities, parking, etc.
Non-Florida Residents Enrolled in Fully Online Programs
Non-Florida Residents enrolled in the above fully online bachelor’s programs pay $333 per credit, which is $999 per 3 credit course. This special discounted tuition for this fully online program saves Non-Florida Residents over $1000 per 3 credit course when compared to Non-Florida resident students taking online courses outside of this program. Many of the fees charged to on-campus students are not applicable to fully online students because many of these fees are waived, saving the non-Florida resident student hundreds of dollars per semester. Please note fully online students do not have free access to FIU's on-campus resources such as: computer labs, sporting events, recreational facilities, parking, etc.
