Faculty Choice Awards

FIU Online's Faculty Choice Awards honor faculty's efforts in designing and delivering a quality online student learning experience. Faculty can self-nominate one of their fully online courses for a Faculty Choice Award in 3 categories. A panel of faculty judges evaluate each nomination and select award recipients.

The FIU Online CON Faculty Choice Awards honors faculty who advance quality course design and enhance the student online learning experience.

Our panel of expert judges will recognize winners in three categories:

  • The category of Excellence in Learner Engagement recognizes an instructor’s extraordinary commitment, initiative, and dedication in designing and facilitating engagement in their online course.
  • The category of Best Use of Technology recognizes an instructor whose creative and effective use of an educational technology tool enhances the learning environment for students in the course.
  • The Online Course of the Year recognizes an instructor whose QM certified course promotes excellent pedagogical design and innovation in online teaching and learning.

Minimum Eligibility:

  • Course must be Quality Matters or High Quality Certified.
  • All activities and technologies used within the course must be accessible to all learners.
  • Courses must be self-nominated by the faculty who taught the course.
  • Faculty can only submit one course per category.
